It has often been said that a perfect
loudspeaker will have no sound of its own, and no 'sound' to describe. The
Spendor S9e gets close to this ideal. Its substantial cabinet houses a
sophisticated 220mm Spendor bass drive unit with an incredibly light rigid
KevlarŪ composite cone, dual suspension, cast magnesium alloy chassis and a
massive fully vented all black magnet/coil motor system. The special Spendor
140mm midrange unit is in its own sealed enclosure with aerodynamically
profiled rebates to ensure that no reflections or disturbances will impair
the sound. High frequencies are handles by an advanced 27mm soft dome
tweeter which produces even detailed sound over a wide deep listening area.
The S9e is highly efficient (90dB) and easy to drive. Our 3D linear flow
port ensures that the bass will always remain even and controlled and, if
necessary, the cabinet can be placed close to a wall. If we tried to
describe the capabilities of the S9e we would choose words like 'air',
